February marks the beginning of the new season for Vienna Gaels and after the success of last year, 2016 is bound to be bigger than ever.
This year will see the ever-growing Gaelic football teams continue to participate at all events and hope to emulate the men’s regional and Pan-European success in 2015. The GAA handball team continues to train following their first outing in Italy in November and Vienna may see hurling played for the first time this year.
Gaelic football training will restart on Monday 8 February at the usual venue of Donau Rugby Park, Meiereistraße 18 from 20:00 hrs.
The other great news is that the indoor Winter League is back. There’s only two dates this year but there will be more matches on both days – 13 February in Vienna and 5 March in Bratislava. Any interested participants in the Winter League should contact deignans@gmail.com.
The club’s AGM is on Friday 12 February in Flanagans at 19:00 hrs and all members are encouraged to attend.
So dust off those boots, stretch out those legs and oil up those hands…the Vienna Gaels are back for 2016, baby!
