35 teams set for Saturday’s finals

pan previewThere are just days left until the pinnacle of the European Gaelic football season takes place in Vienna!

The Gaels will play host to over 430 players competing for 35 teams from 14 countries on Saturday at Rudolf-Tonn in an event not to be missed. The action kicks-off at 09:00 hrs and with a number of trophies up for grabs across the six playing pitches, we’re certain to be treated to a day full of intense and entertaining football.

Vienna will be represented by four teams in total, two men’s and ladies teams each. The list of participating teams in each competition and an explanation of the format can be found below.

Men’s:

These clubs will play group games and the top 2 from the group will complete in the Senior A Men’s final and the bottom 2 will playoff for 3rd and 4th positions.

The top team finishing in each group will go on to compete in the Senior B Semi Finals.

3 Winners from groups into champ semis.

3 second place teams play 10 min round robin. Winner goes to Champ Semi final. 2nd and 3rd go into Shield Semi final.

3 third place teams play 10 min round robin. Best 2 go in Shield Semi finals. Third place joins the 2 4th place teams from Groups B & C in plate competition

Group games are played four-team groups 20mins games, 3 team group 30min games

All round-robin/playoff groups are 10min games
