Vienna Gaels GAA club will welcome over 400 players competing for over 30 teams in the Pan-European Gaelic Football Finals on Saturday 17 October.
Having successfully hosted the event in 2012, the club has accepted the challenge and privilege of hosting the highlight of the sport’s European calendar.
Following victory in the South/East Europe Regional Championship this year, the men’s team will be confident of competing successfully on the European stage and emulating the achievement of winning the Pan-European Intermediate title in 2013.
The ladies team has enjoyed a resurgence this season and will be confident of competing against the talent-laden sides arriving in Austria.
“Vienna Gaels has developed brilliantly over the last few years and 2015 is proving to be a season that will live long in the memory of those associated with the club.
“We’re extremely proud to be welcoming the very best of European football to Vienna and we’re looking forward to putting on a great show,” said club stalwart and fan favourite Simon Deignan.
The action will take place at Rudolf-Tonn-Stadion, Schwechat throughout the day. Spectators and press are welcome to come along and enjoy the event, which promises to be a fantastic spectacle.
