Gaels end regional campaign in Italy

After a home triumph in Round 2, the men’s team find themselves in a commanding position. Their nearest rivals for the overall title, Warsaw and Prague, will not travel to Italy, so the title will be secured with a top four finish, if 2014 champions Munich Colmcillies win the tournament.

Nevertheless, the men are fully focused on making it two wins on the trot and have sent a talented squad of 18 intent on taking home two trophies on Sunday afternoon.

The seven-team tournament is divided into two groups and Vienna have been drawn alongside hosts Padova and a joint Slovaks/Augsburg side.

The ladies are on the verge of securing an unprecedented 2nd place finish in the region. The team has enjoyed mixed fortunes in the first two events, but hope to add some consistancy to their ever-improving performances.

Nine ladies teams will compete on Saturday thanks to the one-off addition of Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg. Vienna have been drawn in a five-team group alongside Belgium, Munich, Zurich and Rovigo.
